Fish: Salmon

In the world of pairing, Salmon tends to be the odd man out. It's got unique characteristics that make it significantly more versatile in terms of what it goes well with.

Pinot Grigio and Red Burgundy, being relatively lighter red wines, go great with Salmon because they don't overwhelm its natural flavors.

On the other hand, if you're in the mood to have your dish with a white wine, Pinot Gris compliments Salmon quite nicely, as its acidity bolsters the fish's characteristics.
