Barbera

BARBERA is the third most-planted grape in Italy. When young, the wines offer a very intense aroma of fresh red and blackberries. In the lightest versions, there are notes of cherries, raspberries, and blueberries. As the grape ripens, stronger notes of blackberry and black cherries develop more intensely. The wines have high acidity (especially when they are not aged in oak). When aged in oak, the wines are rich and lush on the palate but still fresh.
